Though Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique shows great respect for Inter Milan, he remains confident his side can lift the Champions League trophy.

The dream is now just one step away. After clearing the semi-final hurdle, Enrique is setting his sights firmly on the ultimate prize. The biggest challenge awaits, and he knows it won’t be easy. But backed by belief and burning desire, the PSG coach is confident they can make it across the final stretch.

Since taking over in 2023, Enrique guided PSG to the Champions League semi-final last season, where their journey ended. This time, despite barely scraping through the group stage in 15th position, PSG have gained momentum and stormed their way to the final.

Since billionaire Nasser Al-Khelaifi took control of the club, PSG have become a star-studded powerhouse, winning 11 league titles in the last 13 seasons. Yet, the Champions League trophy continues to elude them. Their closest attempt came in 2020 when they lost the final to Bayern Munich.

Now, they face Inter Milan—a side that beat Barcelona over two classic legs in the semi-final. This marks the first Champions League final between Italian and French teams since 1993.

Enrique knows this will be a tough test, but he’s full of belief after PSG’s win over Arsenal in the previous round.

“Inter Milan are far more experienced than us. Their players are older and more mature. But we have the hunger—we want to win the trophy, and we’ll carry that mindset into the final,” he said.

“It won’t be easy. But it won’t be easy for them either. The final will be very interesting and a tough challenge for both teams. It’s a special occasion for us, and for them too—it’s their second final in three years, so they’re obviously a top team. But we have time to prepare. For now, we’ll enjoy the moment.”

Just like his coach, PSG captain Marquinhos is eagerly looking forward to the final.

“It’s an amazing feeling. We’ve done a great job to get here. It’s been a tough and slow journey—we’ve had to fight through some really difficult matches. Now that we’ve made it to the final, we have to make it count. We must prepare in the best way possible. We’ve paved the road to the final, but the job isn’t finished yet.”

The final will be held on May 31 in Munich.
