Tanzim Hasan came agonizingly close to his maiden fifty but fell short due to a brilliant return catch by Roston Chase. Tanzim attempted to loft a ball outside the off-stump over the bowler’s head but failed to get the desired elevation. Chase’s outstanding reflexes ended the 92-run stand that lasted 106 balls. Mahmudullah-Tanzim Set Eighth-Wicket Record
Standing amidst the ruins, Mahmudullah and Tanzim Hasan set a record for Bangladesh’s highest eighth-wicket partnership, adding 92 runs. The partnership was broken by Tanzim’s dismissal off Roston Chase.
Previously, Mohammad Mithun and Mohammad Saifuddin held the record with an 84-run stand against New Zealand in 2019, which lasted for over five years.
