The final day for confirming the Champions Trophy squad was Tuesday, and significant changes occurred in both the Australian and Indian teams. India lost their key pace bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, due to injury. The 2024 ICC Men’s Player of the Year will miss the tournament. Australia, already dealing with the absence of Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood, also saw Mitchell Starc withdraw last minute due to personal reasons, altering the team’s composition further. Afghanistan, too, made a last-minute change, losing spinner Allah Ghazanfar to injury and bringing in Nangyal Kharoti as his replacement.

The Champions Trophy will begin on February 19 in Karachi, with the opening match between Pakistan and New Zealand. The final of the eight-team tournament is scheduled for March 9. If India reaches the final, it will be held in Dubai; if not, it will be played in Lahore.
