Afghanistan has announced the schedule for their ODI and T20I series against Bangladesh.

“Asian Cup matches aside, Bangladesh and Afghanistan will face each other again immediately after the tournament,” said the Afghanistan Cricket Board, unveiling the rescheduled series that had been postponed last year.

The series will feature three T20Is and three ODIs, as usual taking place in the United Arab Emirates, which Afghanistan continues to use as their home venue.

The T20I action kicks off on October 2, followed by the second and third matches on October 3 and 5. The ODI series begins on October 8, with the remaining two games on October 11 and 14.

The venues for the matches have not been finalized yet.

“If Bangladesh advances past the Asia Cup group stage, they will play Afghanistan immediately afterward before returning home. If they are eliminated in the group stage, Liton Das and the team will return home first and travel back to the UAE later for the series,” the board added.

Bangladesh and Afghanistan last faced each other in a bilateral ODI series in Sharjah last year, which Afghanistan won 2-1.

“In ODIs, both teams are evenly matched in series victories. Bangladesh won the first two of the four series, while Afghanistan took the next two,” the board said.

In T20Is, the two sides have played three bilateral series. Afghanistan won the first, the second ended in a 1-1 draw, and Bangladesh won the most recent 2023 series 2-0.
