Pakistan’s Muneeba Ali, Ireland’s Orla Prendergast, and the Netherlands’ Iris Zwilling have been shortlisted among the women’s nominees.
Mohammed Siraj has earned a place on the men’s shortlist for the “ICC Player of the Month” after his sensational bowling performance in the final Test against England. Joining the Indian pacer in the August race are New Zealand’s Matt Henry and West Indies’ Jayden Seales.
The ICC announced the shortlisted male and female cricketers for August on Monday.
Men’s Nominees
Mohammed Siraj (India)
Siraj was the hero of India’s remarkable win in the final Oval Test against England last month. On the last morning of the match, he picked up three wickets, helping India secure a thrilling six-run victory. He claimed 4 wickets for 86 runs in the first innings and 5 for 104 in the second, earning the Player of the Match award. India eventually leveled the series 2-2.
Matt Henry (New Zealand)
Henry played a crucial role in New Zealand’s 2-0 Test series win against Zimbabwe. He grabbed 9 wickets for 90 runs in the first Test and 7 wickets for 56 runs in the second, finishing as the Player of the Series. New Zealand comfortably won both matches.
Jayden Seales (West Indies)
Seales was instrumental in West Indies’ historic ODI series win against Pakistan on home soil — their first since 1991. The 23-year-old fast bowler took 10 wickets in three matches, earning the Player of the Series award. In the final match, he delivered a career-best spell of 6 wickets for 18 runs.

Women’s Nominees
Muneeba Ali (Pakistan)
Against Ireland in the third T20I, Muneeba smashed an unbeaten 100 off 68 balls, becoming only the second Pakistani batter to score a T20I century. Pakistan went on to win the match by 8 wickets. Across the three-match series, the left-handed opener scored 132 runs at an impressive average of 66.
Orla Prendergast (Ireland)
The 23-year-old all-rounder was the driving force behind Ireland’s 2-1 T20I series win over Pakistan at home. She scored 144 runs, including a half-century, and claimed 4 wickets, earning the Player of the Series award. She carried her form into the Women’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier, where she scored a total of 244 runs at an average of 48.80 and a strike rate of 127.08, while also picking up 7 wickets.
Iris Zwilling (Netherlands)
Zwilling impressed with the ball, taking 10 wickets in six T20Is last month. She finished as the joint-highest wicket-taker in the Women’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier, cementing her place among the top contenders.
