In a thrilling second-half goal fest, Hansi Flick’s side secured a commanding victory. Determined to bounce back after dropping points in three consecutive matches, Barcelona finally returned to winning ways with a 5-1 triumph over Real Mallorca, momentarily consolidating their position at the top of the league table.

The La Liga match, played away on Tuesday night, saw Barcelona unleash their scoring prowess in the second half, netting four goals to seal the win.

Barcelona took an early lead in the 12th minute through Ferran Torres, whose shot deflected off a Mallorca defender and into the net. However, the hosts equalized in the 43rd minute when Mariki slotted home from Pablo Maffeo’s pass, leveling the game before halftime.

Despite missing opportunities earlier, Barça came alive in the second half. Raphinha put his team ahead again with a successful penalty in the 56th minute after a foul on Lamine Yamal. The Brazilian forward then doubled the lead in the 74th minute, scoring his second goal with a sharp finish from Yamal’s delightful pass.

Substitute Frenkie de Jong added to the tally in the 72nd minute, capitalizing on a defensive error, and another substitute, Pau Víctor, rounded off the scoring in the 84th minute with a close-range finish, assisted by de Jong.

Raphinha’s brace took his season tally to 11 goals in La Liga and 16 across all competitions in 21 matches, while Robert Lewandowski, the league’s top scorer with 15 goals, was rested for this game.

Barcelona now has 37 points from 16 matches, with 12 wins and a draw, leading the league ahead of Real Madrid, who sit second with 33 points from two fewer matches. Meanwhile, Mallorca remains in sixth place with 24 points from 16 matches.

This resounding victory not only ends Barcelona’s recent slump but also reinforces their title credentials as they look ahead to the rest of the season.
