Harry Kane now holds the record for the most goals scored in the first 50 matches of Germany’s top league.

Just as Erling Haaland has been dominating English football since leaving Germany, Harry Kane is making his mark in the Bundesliga after moving from England. The English striker was unstoppable once again against Holstein Kiel, scoring twice and breaking one of Haaland’s records in the process.

Kane played his 50th Bundesliga match on Saturday, marking the milestone with two headed goals—one just before halftime and another right after the break. Bayern Munich secured a thrilling 4-3 victory.

With these goals, Kane now holds the record for the most goals in a player’s first 50 Bundesliga matches, having netted an impressive 55 times.

In fact, he claimed the record the moment he stepped on the pitch. Haaland, during his two-and-a-half seasons at Borussia Dortmund, had scored 50 goals in his first 50 Bundesliga appearances.

Kane had already left his mark on Holstein Kiel back in September when he scored a hat-trick in Bayern’s 6-1 victory.

This time, however, the relegation-threatened side put up more of a fight. Despite Bayern racing to a 4-0 lead within 54 minutes—thanks to goals from Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, and Kane’s double—Kiel fought back.

Finn Porath pulled one back before Steven Skrzybski scored twice in stoppage time to make it a tense finish.

With this win, Bayern further strengthened their position at the top of the Bundesliga table, now sitting on 51 points from 20 matches. Bayer Leverkusen, who have played one game fewer, are second with 42 points.
