Portuguese forward João Félix, who spent the latter part of last season on loan at AC Milan, has now found a new home.
Félix has opted to leave Europe in search of a new challenge. The 25-year-old forward has signed with Saudi club Al Nassr ahead of the new season — where he will join forces with his national team captain, Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Al Nassr announced Félix’s arrival in the Saudi Pro League on Tuesday through their social media channels.” The club confirmed the Portuguese attacker has signed a two-year deal.
Félix made headlines back in 2019 when he left Benfica for Atlético Madrid in a record-breaking transfer. However, his time in Spain didn’t go as expected. Struggling to live up to the hype, he was loaned out to Chelsea and later to Barcelona.
In 2024, Félix made a permanent move to Chelsea. But in a squad filled with big names, he could only manage 1 goal in 12 appearances — quickly falling down the pecking order. He then spent the tail-end of last season on loan at AC Milan.
Unfortunately, he failed to make a big impact there either, scoring just 2 goals in 15 matches. Now, Félix is set to begin a fresh chapter in his career, joining Ronaldo’s Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
Félix made his debut for the Portuguese national team in 2019 and has since scored 9 goals in 45 international appearances.
