Before their Champions League clash with Arsenal, the German champions boosted their confidence with a superb win.

Before the match clock even hit 20 minutes, the ball had hit Bayern Munich’s net twice. It looked like they were on the verge of slipping up for the second straight league game. But after absorbing the early shock, Vincent Kompany’s side produced a stunning response, overwhelming Freiburg in a goal-filled performance.

At the Allianz Arena on Saturday, the hosts ran out 6–2 winners in the Bundesliga. “Michael Olise” was the star of the show, scoring twice and assisting three more goals for his teammates.

Bayern have been delivering brilliant performances since the start of the season. They set a new record with 16 straight wins across all competitions, including the first 9 rounds of the league, before drawing 2–2 away at Union Berlin on 8 November.

After the international break, Bayern returned to winning ways immediately. Their start, however, was disastrous. Five minutes after “Suzuki” opened the scoring in the 12th minute, “Manzambi” headed in another, putting them 2–0 down.

Both goals came from set-piece situations and poor defending—but Bayern wasted no time fighting back.

In the 22nd minute, “Lennart Karl” reduced the deficit with a fine finish from an “Olise” pass. Just before halftime, Karl set up Olise, who smashed in the equaliser.

Early in the second half, Bayern took full control with two quick goals. In the 55th minute, “Upamecano” volleyed home at the far post from an Olise corner, and moments later “Harry Kane” struck with his left foot to score his 14th league goal of the season.

In the 78th minute, Olise carried the ball forward brilliantly before laying it off for “Nicolas Jackson”, who scored Bayern’s fifth from inside the box. Then in the 84th minute, Olise curled in a superb strike from outside the area to complete his brace.

With 10 wins and a draw from 11 matches, Bayern sit top of the table with 31 points. Bayer Leverkusen are second, eight points behind.

Kompany’s side will now head into Wednesday’s Champions League match against Arsenal with renewed confidence from this emphatic victory.
