After four matches, Enzo Maresca’s side finally tasted victory.
Returning from injury, Cole Palmer scored in his third match back, giving Chelsea a sweet taste of winning again.
In Saturday’s Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge, Maresca’s team defeated their opponents 2-0. Their second goal came from Malo Gusto.
In the 21st minute, English midfielder Palmer converted a through ball from Malo Gusto with a left-footed strike to give his team the lead. Then, in the 45th minute, French defender Gusto doubled the advantage.
Chelsea ended a three-match winless streak in the Premier League and a four-match winless run across all competitions.
With 28 points from 16 matches—eight wins and four draws—Chelsea sit fourth in the table. Aston Villa, in third place, have two points more and have played one match fewer.
