Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has heaped praise on English star striker Harry Kane.
Just like the previous two seasons, Kane is once again in outstanding form for Bayern Munich. The German champions’ coach Vincent Kompany is delighted with the striker’s remarkable consistency and believes Kane is a genuine leader within the squad.
Kane has already scored 17 goals in just 13 Bundesliga matches this season, comfortably leading the scoring charts. No other player has even reached double figures. Across all competitions, the 32-year-old has found the net 28 times in 23 appearances.
Although Kane did not score in Bayern’s most recent match, it did not prevent the club from claiming a comfortable 3-1 victory over Sporting Lisbon.
In the previous game, Kane came off the bench and scored a hat-trick in just 22 minutes against Stuttgart in the Bundesliga. It was already his third hat-trick of the season.
Kane has been scoring freely ever since his move to Munich in 2023. In his first season, he netted 36 league goals and 44 in all competitions. In the 2024–25 season, he finished with a total of 41 goals.
In the Bundesliga alone, Kane has scored 79 goals in 76 matches and also provided 21 assists. Overall, he has registered 113 goals in 119 appearances for Bayern Munich.
Kane is under contract with Bayern until 2027. Reports suggest several clubs are monitoring his situation, with a release clause of €65 million. However, the striker has no immediate plans to leave the German giants.
Bayern will face Mainz in a league match on Sunday. Speaking at a press conference ahead of the game, Kompany said Kane is very settled at the club.
“Harry’s consistency has been outstanding. He feels comfortable in Munich with his family and within this team. Harry is a true leader for us.”
“Harry has a very good relationship with Nicolas Jackson in training. They always work together on finishing. Nicolas is improving because he trains alongside Harry.”
Bayern are in a strong position in their quest to retain the Bundesliga title. They sit top of the table with 37 points from 13 matches, having won 12 and drawn one. RB Leipzig, who have played one match more, are six points behind in second place.
