Guillermo Almada was left in awe by the acrobatic goal scored by Barcelona’s Spanish sensation.
Lamine Yamal has been showered with praise after scoring a spectacular acrobatic goal against Real Oviedo. The stunning strike from Barcelona’s teenage star impressed not only fans but also Oviedo head coach Guillermo Almada, who felt Yamal belongs to another galaxy.
Barcelona secured a convincing 3-0 win over Oviedo in La Liga at Camp Nou on Sunday. Yamal netted the third goal for the champions, with all three goals coming in the second half.
The move began with Marc Casado collecting the ball near midfield from Oviedo goalkeeper’s kick. Dani Olmo flicked it forward, and Yamal, inside the box, finished brilliantly with an acrobatic volley.
After the match, Almada was full of praise for the 18-year-old forward.
“We are talking about a player from another galaxy. He has extraordinary qualities and shows up in key moments of the game. Despite his young age, he is already a star who can decide matches.”
It was Yamal’s 11th goal of the season across all competitions.
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick also admired the goal, but what impressed him most was Yamal’s contribution to the team’s opening goal. Under pressure from Yamal, a loose ball fell inside the box and Olmo broke the deadlock with a low shot.
“The most important thing for me was what Yamal did during our first goal. The way he applied pressure and recovered the ball to create that chance is exactly what we want. That was the key to shaping the match and securing the three points.”
“For me, it was even more important than the third goal. Of course, everyone loves to see him score, and I am happy that he produced such a goal.”
With 17 wins and one draw from 21 matches, Barcelona sit top of the table with 52 points. Real Madrid are second, just one point behind, having played the same number of games.
