Bayern Munich is moving steadily on the path to retaining their title.
Harry Kane scored a brace for the second consecutive match, leading Bayern to an effortless victory.
In the Bundesliga on Saturday, the reigning champions defeated bottom-table Werder Bremen 3-0 at their ground.
Thanks to Kane’s brilliance, Bayern took a two-goal lead within 25 minutes. When 17-year-old midfielder Lennart Karr was fouled in the box, the referee awarded a penalty, which Kane confidently converted.
Just three minutes later, the English forward doubled the lead with a low shot from outside the box. This marked Kane’s third consecutive match scoring in the league.
Kane had also scored twice against Hoffenheim last week. He now has 26 goals in 22 Bundesliga matches this season, while teammate Luis Dias sits second with 13 goals.
In the 70th minute, German midfielder Leon Goretzka scored Bayern’s third after receiving a pass from Alphonso Davies inside the box.
With 18 wins and three draws in 22 matches, Bayern sits at the top with 57 points, six ahead of second-placed Borussia Dortmund, who also have 22 matches played.
