The return of this Brazilian forward will boost Real Madrid’s confidence. With several players sidelined due to injuries, Rodrygo’s comeback brings some relief for the team. The Brazilian forward is set to return to the field against Getafe in La Liga after recovering from injury.
Rodrygo had to leave the field with a muscle injury early in Real Madrid’s 4-0 win over Osasuna on November 9. Shortly after, another Brazilian, defender Éder Militão, was forced off due to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.
Alongside Militão, defenders David Alaba and Dani Carvajal are also out with ACL injuries. Forward Vinícius Júnior is nursing a muscle issue, while midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni is sidelined with an ankle injury. Most recently, during Real Madrid’s 2-0 loss to Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday, midfielder Eduardo Camavinga picked up a hamstring injury.
Real Madrid will face Getafe at the Santiago Bernabéu in La Liga on Sunday. Head coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed Rodrygo’s return during the pre-match press conference.
“Rodrygo will return tomorrow (Sunday), Tchouaméni will be back in the next match, and Camavinga will return soon,” Ancelotti stated.
Real Madrid, last season’s champions, sit second in the La Liga table with 30 points from 13 matches. Barcelona, despite a 2-1 loss to Las Palmas on Saturday, leads the table with 34 points from 15 matches. The match against Getafe presents an opportunity for Real Madrid to close the gap with the Catalan side.
