Florentino Perez will remain at the helm of Europe’s most successful club until 2029.
Once again, Perez has been re-elected as the president of Real Madrid for a four-year term without any opposition. The 77-year-old businessman will continue as the head of the Spanish club until 2029.
This marks Perez’s fifth consecutive term and seventh overall as the president of Real Madrid. His first tenure ran from 2000 to 2006. After returning to the role in 2009, he was re-elected unopposed in 2013, 2017, 2021, and now again in 2025.
Earlier this month, on January 7, Perez officially requested the club’s Electoral Board to initiate the election process. Ten days later, his candidacy was confirmed as the only one, securing his position for another term.
According to the club’s bylaws, if no alternative candidates step forward, the sole applicant is automatically declared president. On Sunday, Real Madrid officially announced Perez’s re-election.
During his time in charge, Real Madrid’s football and basketball teams have collectively secured 65 trophies. Of the club’s 15 Champions League titles, seven have come under his leadership, cementing Perez’s legacy as the most successful president in the history of Real Madrid.
