Julian Nagelsmann has extended his contract as the head coach of Germany’s national football team until the 2028 European Championship.
Under his guidance, Germany reached the quarter-finals of the 2024 Euros, which was held on home soil. His previous contract was set to expire after the 2026 World Cup.
The German Football Association (DFB) confirmed the extension on Friday, with Nagelsmann expressing his ambition to win a title with the team.
“When I joined the DFB in September 2023, I could never have imagined that I would still be the national team coach after the Euros on home soil,” Nagelsmann said. “The response we’ve received proves that our journey together is heading in the right direction. We want to win a title together.”
Since taking over, Nagelsmann has coached Germany in 19 matches, with 11 wins, 5 draws, and 3 losses.
