Jude Bellingham, midfielder for the Spanish club, is eager to win the trophy in the inaugural FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
As the year draws to a close with a season filled with success, another trophy opportunity beckons for Real Madrid. The club’s midfielder, Jude Bellingham, is determined not to let this chance slip by. He is focused on winning the FIFA Intercontinental Cup and ending the year on a high note.
Instead of the previous FIFA Club World Cup, the Intercontinental Cup now features the best clubs from six continents. Real Madrid has directly secured a spot in the final of the inaugural tournament, where they will face Mexico’s Pachuca FC.
The title-deciding match will take place on Wednesday at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar, with the game kicking off at 11 PM Bangladesh time.
Bellingham has already tasted success with Real Madrid since joining at the start of the 2023-24 season. The Spanish club has won La Liga, the Champions League, the Spanish Super Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup.
However, Real’s recent form has been far from perfect, with ongoing discussions and criticism surrounding the team. Under pressure, the club now has an opportunity to win the Intercontinental Cup. In an interview with FIFA, Bellingham expressed that their full focus is on securing this trophy, acknowledging the challenge posed by the unfamiliar opponent.
“It’s the biggest privilege of my life to win trophies with this club. Winning a few trophies last year and now having the chance to win another tomorrow is truly remarkable. The importance of the club is so immense that it feels like winning a trophy here brings a sense of relief. We always strive to reach the level this club has achieved in the past. So, winning trophies and having the opportunity to do it again tomorrow is truly significant for us. But I’m not taking success for granted in this match,” said Bellingham.
“I don’t think there’s any tournament that this club takes lightly. It’s a club where success and a winning mentality are expected. That mentality will definitely be seen in tomorrow’s match. For me, the most important thing is to finish the year in the best way possible. First, winning another trophy tomorrow and then a crucial league match this weekend,” he added.
