Lamine Yamal revealed that no one from Barcelona has mentioned anything to him regarding offers or interest from other clubs.
Around four months ago, Barcelona president Joan Laporta mentioned that a club had made a record-breaking offer for Yamal in the transfer market, but that offer was turned down. However, Yamal stated that no one at Barcelona has spoken to him about it. He also made it clear that he has never considered leaving his beloved club.
In October, Laporta claimed that Barcelona had rejected a $270 million offer from a club for Yamal. At the time, he did not disclose the name of the club, but later, Barcelona official Enric Masip revealed that the offer had come from French club PSG during the last summer transfer window.
In an interview published Wednesday in Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Yamal was asked about PSG’s offer. The young Spanish winger confirmed that he hadn’t heard anything about it from anyone at Barcelona.
“I don’t know anything about this. Even if someone from my camp had heard about it, they wouldn’t have told me because, first of all, I have a contract here, and moving to another club is impossible for me.”
Yamal, who joined Barcelona’s academy at the age of seven, is now one of the brightest young talents in world football. He made his debut for the first team at just 15 and, at 17, has become an essential part of both the club and the national team.
His current contract with Barcelona runs until 2026. Earlier, ESPN reported that Yamal had verbally agreed to extend his contract until 2030 once he turns 18.
“I don’t think there’s any doubt about how much I love this club. I’ve said a lot since my debut, and everything will be sorted in the end. If both sides want something, it will happen. In July, when I turn 18 and can sign a long-term contract, everything will be settled, and everyone will see that.”
“However, right now, I’m focused on La Liga, the Champions League, and the Copa del Rey.”
This season, Barcelona has already won the Spanish Super Cup, is at the top of La Liga, reached the Copa del Rey semifinals, and secured a spot in the Champions League knockout stages under coach Hansi Flick.
