Harry Kane is unlikely to feature in Bayern Munich’s next match.
The concern arose when Kane did not come out for the second half against Celtic. The following day, it was confirmed that the English striker is dealing with a muscle injury.
Kane sustained the injury during Bayern’s Champions League match on Tuesday night at the Allianz Arena. After a goalless first half, coach Vincent Kompany decided not to bring him back on after the break, opting to substitute in Kingsley Coman instead.
Bayern drew 1-1 in the second leg of the playoff, advancing to the Round of 16 with a 3-2 aggregate score. The following day, the club confirmed Kane’s muscle injury in an official statement.
While the injury may not be too serious, Kane’s chances of playing in the next match seem slim. After the game, Kane himself expressed uncertainty about his availability.
“I’m not sure if I’ll be able to play against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday,” he said.
Bayern Munich, who secured their place in the Champions League knockout stages, are in a strong position domestically, leading the Bundesliga by 8 points as they continue their quest to reclaim the title.
