Barcelona and Osasuna’s La Liga match will be rescheduled for a later date.
Barcelona’s first-team doctor, Carles Minarro García, has passed away, leading to the postponement of their match against Osasuna.
The game was set to take place at the Olympic Stadium at 2:00 AM Bangladesh time on Saturday. Both teams had already announced their starting lineups, and players had begun warming up. However, about 20 minutes before kickoff, an announcement over the stadium speakers confirmed the match’s postponement.
Barcelona expressed deep sorrow over Dr. García’s passing in an official statement:
“Barcelona is deeply saddened by the passing of first-team doctor Carles Minarro García this evening (Saturday). As a result, the match between Barcelona and Osasuna has been postponed. The club’s board and staff extend their heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.”
La Liga’s tournament committee will determine a new date for the fixture.
Barcelona currently leads the league table with 57 points from 26 matches. Atlético Madrid sits in second place with 56 points, while Real Madrid is third with 54 points, both having played the same number of matches.
