The Belgian goalkeeper is dealing with a muscle injury.
After the international break, Real Madrid will be without Thibaut Courtois for their upcoming matches. The goalkeeper, who picked up the injury while playing for his national team, will miss at least two games.
Courtois made his return to the Belgium national team after 22 months for the UEFA Nations League relegation playoff. He played in the first leg, where Belgium lost 3-1 to Ukraine, but was sidelined for the second leg due to a muscle injury.
He has not yet recovered from that injury. As a result, Courtois will miss Real Madrid’s La Liga match against Leganés on Sunday and the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg against Real Sociedad on Tuesday.
It is expected that he could return to the field on April 5 for the La Liga match against Valencia.
Speaking about Courtois’ injury at a press conference on Friday, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said, “Courtois has a small injury problem, but he will recover in a few days.”
