Ahead of the Champions League semi-final second leg, PSG coach Luis Enrique has confirmed that French forward Ousmane Dembélé will be available for the match.
In a boost for PSG fans before the crucial second leg of the Champions League semi-finals, Luis Enrique confirmed that the team’s key attacking player, Ousmane Dembélé, will be available for the match against Arsenal.
The French champions will face the English club at home on Wednesday in their bid to reach the final of Europe’s premier competition. The match will kick off at 1 AM Bangladesh time.
In a press conference on the eve of the important match, Enrique provided an update on Dembélé’s condition:
“He has been training with the team for two days now, so he will be available tomorrow (Wednesday).”
PSG won the first leg of the semi-final 1-0 last week at Arsenal’s ground, with Dembélé scoring the only goal of the match.
However, Dembélé was forced to leave the pitch in the 70th minute and went straight to the tunnel. It was later revealed that he had been suffering from a hamstring issue, raising doubts about his availability for the second leg at home.
After joining the team’s training session on Monday, some of those concerns were alleviated. Enrique’s confirmation has now completely dispelled any doubts.
Dembélé has been in excellent form this season. In 45 appearances across all competitions, the 27-year-old has scored 33 goals and provided 12 assists.
PSG is in search of their first-ever Champions League title, and they are fighting for a place in the final for the second time. Their hopes were dashed in the 2020 final, where they lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich.
