Sweden will miss their star striker Viktor Gyökeres in the upcoming friendly matches against Hungary and Algeria due to injury concerns.
The 26-year-old forward suffered an injury that forced him to leave the national team training camp after a medical evaluation. Although the Swedish Football Association confirmed the injury isn’t serious, they didn’t provide specific details about its nature.
Gyökeres had an outstanding last season with Sporting Lisbon, scoring 54 goals and providing 13 assists across 52 matches in all competitions.
There are strong rumors this transfer window that he might leave Lisbon, with top European clubs like Arsenal and Real Madrid reportedly interested in signing him.
Sweden is set to face Hungary on June 6 and Algeria on June 10.
