Harry Kane has surpassed Erling Haaland’s feat to set a new record in Germany’s top league.
For 62 minutes, there were no goals in the match. By the 90th minute, only one goal had been scored. But before the final whistle, three goals were on the scoreboard—all from one man. Harry Kane delivered yet another hat-trick, this time with a special milestone attached to it. He reached a remarkable record in stunning fashion.
Kane’s hat-trick helped Bayern Munich secure a 3-0 victory over Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Friday. With these three goals, Kane hit the 50-goal mark for Bayern—a milestone he achieved in record time.
It took Kane just 43 matches to score 50 goals, breaking the previous record in Germany’s top league set by Erling Haaland. The Norwegian forward had reached the mark in 50 matches while playing for Borussia Dortmund before moving to Manchester City.
On the day, Bayern took the lead in the 63rd minute when Kane converted a penalty. In added time, he scored his second goal with another penalty, marking his 25th consecutive successful spot-kick across club and country.
Just two minutes later, Kane completed his hat-trick with a header, sealing the record for the fastest 50 goals.
Since joining Bayern last season, Kane has been in blistering form, scoring 34 goals in 32 matches. However, the club failed to win the league title for the first time since 2012. This season, Bayern has started strong in their quest to reclaim the trophy, sitting at the top of the table with 29 points from 11 matches, 8 points ahead of the second-placed team, having played one more game.
Kane, though, is more pleased with his contribution to the team’s success than his personal achievements. Reflecting on the match, he said:
“At halftime, we talked about maintaining the pressure and creating opportunities. Fortunately, we got a penalty, and from there, the game opened up.”
