After a month of consecutive failures in the Premier League, Mikel Arteta’s team finally found their way back to victory.
Following four frustrating matches without a win, Arsenal ended their dry spell with a dominant performance, comfortably defeating Nottingham Forest.
In Saturday’s Premier League match at the Emirates Stadium, Arteta’s side claimed a commanding 3-0 victory.
Bukayo Saka put the hosts ahead before Thomas Partey doubled the lead. Late in the game, Ethan Nwaneri sealed the win with a third goal.
In their previous four Premier League games, Arsenal had suffered two losses and two draws. Adding to their struggles, they also endured a bitter defeat in their most recent Champions League match. After a confident start to the season, the Gunners appeared to have lost their way.
Determined to break free from their slump, Arsenal took the lead in the 15th minute. Captain Martin Ødegaard’s pass found Bukayo Saka in the box, who skillfully evaded multiple defenders before unleashing a powerful shot to score.
Maintaining pressure, Arsenal created further chances late in the first half. However, Belgian goalkeeper Mats Sels denied Leandro Trossard and Saka with brilliant saves.
Seven minutes into the second half, Thomas Partey extended the lead in spectacular fashion. Collecting Saka’s pass, the Ghanaian midfielder controlled with his left foot before curling a stunning shot with his right, finding the far post.
In the 86th minute, young midfielder Ethan Nwaneri added a third to all but secure the victory. Just four minutes after coming on as a substitute, the 17-year-old Englishman latched onto a pass from fellow substitute Raheem Sterling to score.
With six wins and four draws in 12 matches, Arsenal sit fourth in the table with 22 points.
Earlier in the day, Chelsea defeated Leicester City 2-0 in the opening match. They also have 22 points from 12 matches and occupy third place due to a superior goal difference.
Brighton hold fifth place, also with 22 points, while Nottingham sit sixth with 19 points.
At the top of the table, Liverpool lead with 28 points from 11 matches.
