Cristiano Ronaldo returned to scoring form for Al-Nassr after going one game without a goal. The 38-year-old played a pivotal role in his team’s victory by scoring a brace and reaching an impressive milestone.
On Tuesday, Al-Nassr defeated Al-Khaleej 3-1 in the Saudi Pro League, even after being reduced to 10 men in the 34th minute.
Following a goalless first half, Ronaldo broke the deadlock in the 65th minute with a low shot after a clever backheel assist from his teammate.
With this goal, Ronaldo achieved a remarkable milestone: he has now contributed to 100 goals (goals and assists combined) for Al-Nassr.
In the 80th minute, Al-Khaleej equalized through a penalty. However, Al-Nassr regained the lead in the very next minute with a goal from Sultan Al-Ghanam.
In the dying moments of added time, Ronaldo sealed the victory with his second goal of the match, calmly slotting the ball into an open net after receiving a pass inside the box.
Ronaldo has now scored 83 goals and provided 18 assists in 92 matches for Al-Nassr.
The Portuguese forward’s career goal tally stands at 919, leaving him just 81 goals shy of the coveted 1,000-goal milestone.
With 13 goals in 15 matches, Ronaldo currently leads the Saudi Pro League’s top scorer chart this season.
Al-Nassr sits third in the league table with 32 points from 16 matches, having secured 9 wins and 5 draws. Al-Ittihad is second with 40 points, while Al-Hilal leads the league with 43 points.
