Napoli 1 – 2 Como
Antonio Conte’s side missed the chance to move to the top of the league table after a loss at Como’s home ground.
Napoli had been in great form in their quest to reclaim the league title, but suddenly seemed to lose their way. After three consecutive draws, they were defeated by Como, missing a golden opportunity to return to the top of the league table.
In Serie A on Sunday, Napoli lost 2-1 away. They initially fell behind due to an own goal from Amir Rrahmani, but Giacomo Raspadori equalized for the visitors. However, their hopes were dashed when Assane Diouf scored a brilliant goal in the 77th minute, securing the win for Como.
Had Napoli won, they would have overtaken Inter Milan at the top of the league, but instead, they left the pitch with frustration.
The match began with a nightmare for Napoli in the 7th minute. After receiving a throw-in from a teammate, Kosovo’s center-back Rrahmani sent the ball into his own net without looking at the goalkeeper.
Ten minutes later, Raspadori brought relief to Napoli with a goal, capitalizing on a defensive mistake from the opposition.
In the 77th minute, Senegal-born Spanish forward Diouf made the difference, finishing off a brilliant pass from Nico to give Como the lead.
Napoli now sits in second place in the Serie A table with 56 points from 26 matches, just one point behind leaders Inter Milan. Como, with 28 points, is in 13th place.
