The 22-year-old Spanish midfielder is extending his stay with the Catalan club.
Pedri, one of Barcelona’s most reliable midfielders, has extended his contract with the club. Under the new deal, the Spanish star will remain with Barcelona until June 2030.
His previous contract was set to expire in June 2026, but Barcelona made renewing his deal a top priority. On Thursday, the 22-year-old officially signed the new agreement.
Pedri joined Barcelona from Las Palmas in 2020 and played an impressive 52 matches across all competitions in his debut season. However, injuries hampered his game time over the next three seasons.
Now, having put those setbacks behind him, he has become a regular starter this season. Under Hansi Flick, Pedri has solidified his role as a key player for the team.
So far this season, he has featured in 32 of Barcelona’s 33 matches across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing four assists.
Overall, Pedri has made 175 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 24 goals and assisting 17 times. On the international stage, he has earned 30 caps for Spain and played a crucial role in their UEFA Euro victory last year.
Barcelona, who have already secured a spot in the Champions League Round of 16 by finishing in the top eight, currently sit third in La Liga. They have also reached the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey and clinched the Spanish Super Cup title by defeating Real Madrid in the final.
