AC Milan 1 – 1 Inter Milan

Inter Milan managed to escape defeat with a last-minute equalizer after three goals were ruled out due to offside and fouls, and three attempts were denied by the post.

The match was a thrilling back-and-forth battle, with Inter Milan sending the ball into the net three times, only to have their efforts canceled out by offside and fouls. They also hit the post on three occasions. Just as AC Milan seemed poised to claim another derby victory, a dramatic twist unfolded in injury time, as Inter salvaged a draw with a late goal.

The Serie A clash at San Siro on Sunday night ended 1-1. After Tijani Reinders put AC Milan ahead in the first half, Stefan de Vrij equalized for Inter in the 93rd minute.

In their first encounter this season in September, AC Milan triumphed 2-1, which remains Inter’s only loss in the current campaign.

In this match, Federico Dimarco and Lautaro Martínez both saw their efforts ruled out for offside in the first half.

Reinders broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute, following a strong shot from Rafael Leão that was saved by the goalkeeper, with Reinders hammering the rebound into the net from outside the six-yard box.

Inter came close to equalizing again in the 64th minute when Martínez found the net, but the referee blew the whistle for a foul.

In the 67th minute, defender Jan Bisseck’s header, Marcus Thuram’s volley in the 82nd minute, and Denzel Dumfries’ shot in injury time were all thwarted by the same post!

Finally, in the third minute of added time, Inter found their equalizer. A cross from a teammate was met by defender Nikola Zalewski, who headed the ball down to fellow defender De Vrij, who fired it into the net with his left foot, sending the team into celebration.

Inter Milan are second in the standings with 51 points from 22 matches, having won 15 and drawn 6. AC Milan sit eighth with 35 points, having won 9 and drawn 8.

Napoli lead the table with 53 points.
