Barcelona 3 – 0 Osasuna
Barcelona cruised to an easy 3-0 victory over Osasuna, extending their lead to three points ahead of second-placed Real Madrid. Despite missing a few key players, Hansi Flick’s team showed no signs of weakness, dominating the game from the first minute. Their aggressive style of play secured the top spot in La Liga with ease.
The match, postponed earlier due to the passing of Barcelona’s team doctor, was finally played on Thursday night. In a one-sided affair, Flick’s side took sweet revenge after losing 4-2 in their first meeting at Osasuna’s home ground.
Torres, Olmo & Lewandowski on Target
Ferran Torres opened the scoring early, converting a brilliant cross from Alejandro Balde in the 11th minute. He had another golden opportunity just three minutes later, but missed a one-on-one against goalkeeper Sergio Herrera.
Barcelona doubled their lead in the 21st minute with Dani Olmo scoring from a penalty. Initially, Herrera saved Olmo’s first attempt, but the referee ordered a retake due to an Osasuna player entering the box early. Olmo made no mistake the second time. Unfortunately, he was forced off due to an injury just six minutes later.
Robert Lewandowski sealed the victory in the 77th minute with a stunning header from a Fermin Lopez cross. This marked his 23rd goal of the season, reflecting his incredible form.
Missed Chances but Total Dominance
Barcelona relentlessly attacked Osasuna’s defense, creating multiple chances. Torres hit the crossbar with a fantastic free kick in the 39th minute and missed a couple more opportunities in the second half. Pedri, Pablo Torre, and Lamine Yamal also came close to scoring.
Osasuna tried to fight back with substitutions, including Ante Budimir, the league’s third-highest scorer, but they couldn’t sustain the pressure.
In the 86th minute, Pau Victor had a clear chance to make it 4-0 but shot straight at the keeper.
